IRDO ‘s 20th Conference Innovative, Sustainable and Socially Responsible Society 2025
On June 11 and 12, 2025, IRDO – Institute for the Development of Social Responsibility in collaboration with the University of Maribor and the Slovenian Society for Systems Research, will host its 20th international conference “INNOVATIVE, SUSTAINABLE and SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE SOCIETY 2025: Personal responsibility as a part of social responsibility and sustainability”.
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION
People compose society and organizations, influencing and being influenced by social responsibility. Personal accountability drives collective outcomes, shaping communities and systems. Reflecting on these dynamics reveals the power of personal interactions in fostering change.
Digital, personal, and social responsibility shape interactions between people (P2P) and organisations (P2O). Choices in the digital space, influenced by Artificial Intelligence, shift relations, influencing ethics, trust, and societal norms in a profoundly interconnected world. Understanding and executing responsible behaviour is essential in fostering a balanced digital society.
Precarious work challenges personal and social responsibility, urging individuals to adapt while advocating systemic change. The key challenge lies in striking a balance between the need for flexibility in the labour market and ensuring social security for young people so that they do not find themselves trapped in a cycle of uncertainty.
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) applies to large companies to boost transparency and hold companies accountable for their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts. The reporting must align with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
Systems thinking helps advance from passively participating in our world using a linear perspective to co-develop us and our society by developing the capacity for holistic oversight, which includes interconnections and feedback loops. Aware of these loops, individuals see actions trigger delayed reactions, shaping personal and collective responsibility. This transition is necessary to effectively handle the complex difficulties that our increasingly interconnected globe is experiencing.
